DESCRIPTION
Come relax by the wonderful Helton Creek. "Helton Creekside Cabin" is a 1,475 sq. foot, 3 bedroom 1.5 bath cabin. Perfect for the family wanting to come to the mountains to relax, fish, and play in the cool mountain stream. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dining room table that seats 4 and a bar that seats an additional 2. The patio door opens to the covered porch with a Commercial Char-Broil gas grill, patio furniture, and a HOT TUB with total privacy. The porch is right on the state maintained trout stream, Helton Creek. Just imagine grilling out and relaxing in the wonderful hot tub while listening to the creek sounds. Off the back porch is a fenced yard with gate for the kids to play and the dogs to run around. This cabin is equipped with a stack washer and dryer. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one with a full bed. "Helton Creekside" has multiple ceiling fans to keep you cool, but also has central heating and air with a rock gas log fireplace. There are two TV's, one with VCR and DVD combo with Dish network located in the living room. In addition to the 1,475 sq. ft. cabin we have the option of renting the 300 sq. ft. cabin next door for an additional charge. This cabin is great for the extended family featuring a 1 bedroom 1 bath and a fold out sleeper sofa in the living room. There is a Hot Tub on the private deck as well.

Our kitchen is small but well stocked. You will be able to handle any of your cooking needs. There is a convection oven/microwave, refrigerator, pots and pans, and all necessary items. You can dine inside at the two person table or choose to eat streamside on the back deck and take in the sights and sounds of Helton Creek. Helton Chicken Coop is a pet friendly home allowing small pets. The deck is enclosed and also includes a doggy door.If you are a fisherman or woman, Helton Creek is one of a kind. During the winter, it is strictly catch and release. During the summer months, you can keep what you catch and put them on the grill on the back porch. Helton Chicken Coop is close to the Grayson Highlands park system in Virginia. This park offers miles of hiking or biking trails. The world famous New River offers small mouth bass fishing as well as canoeing. For the skiing enthusiast, nearby Banner Elk and Beech Mountain offer all of the winter sports. Downtown West Jefferson is quickly becoming a destination for tourist visiting our many art galleries and restaurants. A good first stop would be the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce.

| A WONDERFUL ADVENTUROUS VACATION CABIN YEAR AFTER YEAR! This beautiful log and stone cabin is located right on the North Fork of the New River just eight miles from Jefferson, NC. This spacious cabin offers a canoe and a kayak for your river outings. There are many life jackets for your use as well. Three bedrooms, two baths and year-round access make this a great value for families or small groups; it will sleep from 8 up to 12 people on a variety of beds, king size master with bathroom on the upper level along with a large room with 2 sets of bunk beds (double on bottom and single on top) and plenty of space for the kids to play, 2 double bedrooms on the main level with a bathroom between the two bedrooms. Dining is informal, with a cheery sunroom overlooking the river and a breakfast nook in the well equipt kitchen. The kitchen with wormy chestnut cabinets includes a coffee maker, microwave and dishes for 12, and a charcoal grill is available. You will want to bring your own paper products, by the way. A washer and dryer are also available so you will need to bring your own detergent, etc. To better enjoy the great outdoors, we have added a hot tub to the expansive deck overlooking the New River. Imagine, soaking and relaxing in the hot tub, watching the lazy river float on by, your cool refreshing drink in hand, steaks grilling on the grill, not a care in the world! This old style cabin has a well equipped kitchen, with two private bedrooms and two full baths; Master BR –queen, second BR - a set of bunk beds. A queen futon in the loft and sleeper sofa in the living room provides sleeping for 4-6 people. This is one of our pet friendly cabins so with a pet fee your friendly critters are welcome. This cabin is a smoke free cabin so is not allowed. After a full day of high country adventure and fun, return to “Ashe Mountain Dream” and relax with some mountain music as you enjoy the rocking chair front porch. You’ll find a CD player, Dish network TV, VCR, DVD and radio for your pleasure. Come stay at “Ashe Mountain Dream” for a peaceful rest in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

Come and stay at The Husk Homestead – a unique, private cabin retreat with lovely views located above the town of Lansing, NC. The Husk Homestead is an authentic, antique log cabin dating back to the 1890s. Originally constructed in the hills of the Husk-Nella community above Big Horse Creek in northern Ashe County, it was moved to its present location in the late 1970’s. This cabin has all its hand-hewn charm, but you’ll still find all the modern conveniences. The living room features a stone hearth made from the cabin’s original chimney stone, along with a standing wood stove. You’ll find an antique, restored clawfoot tub with shower attachment waiting for you in the bath. The updated kitchen, including dishwasher and microwave, is fully stocked with all utensils, dishes, and cookware required to cook a gourmet meal. Or feel free to just fire up the gas grill and throw on some steaks. Don’t forget to pick your own vegetables from our seasonal garden. Remember to plan on fresh yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes or cucumbers to compliment your meal. If the garden is overflowing, please help yourself and take home a veggie or two for later. Hang out on the wrap around porch in the swing, hammock, or one of the ole rocking chairs and gaze at the mountain views. You’ll love sitting and enjoying the cool mountain air and visits from the local hummingbirds. If you’re lucky, you may get a visit from The Bickerson’s, our friendly little pair of house wrens who have taken up residence in the red barn birdhouse in the top of the porch. 4 legged friends are welcome at our home and there is even a fenced in yard for exercise & play. An afternoon shower won’t bother you at The Husk Homestead as you listen to the rain patter on our red tin roof. The large upstairs bedroom, the Horse Room, features a queen size bed and is decorated with all things equine. The smaller bedroom, The Tree Room, features a full size bed and is decorated with tree motifs and artwork by local artists. The downstairs living room also features a full size futon for extra guests, bringing the sleeping capacity for the cabin to six. The third floor finished attic serves as a Creativity Room - perfect for the artist in residence, or for kids to color and play games. There is a washer and dryer for your use, and satellite TV service insures you won’t miss your favorite show or special sporting event. There is also a stereo with a CD player.

Nestled in the woods above the rapids on the North Fork of the New River, this new western red cedar log cabin is the perfect place to escape from the demands of life. With over 450 feet of river frontage and 4 secluded private acres, "Roaring River" offers many opportunities for relaxation. From reading on the front deck to swimming, fishing, tubing, or canoeing in the river, you will certainly be entertained during your stay. There are long winding private roads for that evening stroll, or take the walking trail down along the river. The winding walking trail leads to a cedar swing perched on a rock ledge overlooking the rapids. This well equipped cabin features two bedrooms. Each has a private bath, queen bed, and private porch. There is a porch off of the master bedroom with a hot tub! If additional sleeping is needed, there is a queen sleeper sofa in the den. The kitchen has all of the bells and whistles needed to prepare a gourmet meal, and that all important dishwasher to make clean up a snap. Additional amenities include Dish TV, DVD, and a movie collection. There are also games of all kinds to occupy the family. On cool nights, the gas fire logs keep you toasty warm. When it is time for meals, just ring the antique dinner bell to bring the kids off of the river.
